Description

No. 44 High Street is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, featuring a red brick front range and a possibly earlier timber-framed and roughcast rendered rear range. The building has a T-plan layout and is topped with both cement tiled and plain tiled roofs, which have gable end parapets and end stacks. A modillion eaves cornice made of wood and a brick band separates the storeys. The farmhouse stands two storeys high with attics and includes two dormers. The front features a range of three mid-19th century recessed hung sash windows, along with two similar shuttered windows on either side of the doorway. The early 19th century doorcase is complemented by a four-panelled door that has two glazed upper panels.
