Description
The Cottage is a timber-framed and plastered cottage situated parallel to the road, built in two distinct phases. The eastern section dates to the 16th century, comprising two bays, while the western section was added in the late 17th century, incorporating a chimney that replaced an earlier hall chimney. The roof is thatched, and a 19th-century brick chimney stack stands in the location of the original. The south wall has been raised to create a two-story section, featuring three modern casement windows. Five ground-floor windows of varying sizes are fitted with glazing bars. A plank door is positioned within a lobby entry. The interior retains a sealed inglenook hearth, stop-chamfered ceiling beams with run-out stops, and an exposed timber frame.
