Description

Oakley Cottage is a mid-19th century painted brick cottage featuring a shallow, low-pitched slate roof and end stacks. The stack to the west is original to a single-storey 17th century cottage, which was timber framed and thatched; one bay of this earlier structure remains to the west and was used as a cobbler's shop. The two-storey brick cottage has three first-floor horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars set in moulded wooden frames, along with two replacement casement windows in segmental arches. These flank the original four-panelled door, which is adorned with a reeded wooden architrave.
