Description

Grove Cottage is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered cottage located on Malting Lane in Ellington. Originally part of a larger building, it now comprises three units. The cottage has a thatched roof, half-hipped to the south, with an end stack and a rebuilt ridge stack. The exterior features three dormer windows with modern fixed lights incorporating glazing bars, four larger ground-floor windows, and a modern front door. Inside, the cottage retains stop-chamfered ceiling beams with run-out stops, and renovated inglenook hearths. The property is documented in the Register of Historic Landscapes for Huntingdonshire, the National Monuments Record for Huntingdonshire, and the Huntingdonshire County Record Office photographic collection.
