Description
Number 16 on Market Square is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features four windows. It is constructed of gault brick and has pilasters at either end of the front, which are topped with panelled stone pedestals and one remaining ball finial. Below a narrow stone cornice, there is a brick band. The recessed sash windows, which have glazing bars, are adorned with gauged flat brick arches. The building also has two doorways, each framed by wide stucco pilasters, a deep frieze, a heavy cornice, and a panelled door. Number 16 is part of a group that includes numbers 16 to 46 (even).
