Description

This is a 19th-century building located on the south side of Market Square. It’s three storeys high and has a double-fronted design with five windows. The roof is hipped and tiled, featuring a projecting eaves cornice supported by brackets. The building is constructed of gault brick, with gauged flat brick arches above the recessed sash windows. The second-floor windows have glazing bars. A wooden shopfront is present, complete with an entablature and a dentil cornice, along with projecting shop windows. Carriage entrances flank the shopfront; the eastern entrance has a semi-elliptical arch and a fielded and panelled door. The building contributes to the group value of numbers 16 to 46 (even) on Market Square.
