Description
No. 30 Market Square is a building dating from 1590, located on the south side of the square. It is an earlier to mid-19th century structure with three storeys and three windows, constructed from gault brick. The building features a parapet and gauged flat brick arches above recessed sash windows. The wooden shopfront is accessed by stone steps, with pilasters supporting an entablature that projects over the shop windows, which have semi-elliptical arched lights and a cast iron palmette enriched grill in a panelled dado. To the left, there is a carriageway with a semi-elliptical arch and panelled double doors. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 16 to 46 (even).
