Description

50 and 52 Market Square are a pair of early 19th-century buildings. They are three storeys high and have six windows. The façade is constructed of Gault brick, with the first floor painted. A stucco cornice and blocking course run along the top. The first floor is divided into three bays by coupled stucco Ionic pilasters, with single pilasters at either end supporting an entablature. The recessed sash windows have gauged flat brick arches and glazing bars. Originally, there were three wooden shopfronts, though the shop at the south end has been altered. A wide projecting hood once covered the entire frontage.
