Description
Burnside is a 17th century or early 18th century timber-framed house that was refronted in the early 19th century. It has two storeys and a double front with three windows. The exterior is made of Gault brick and features a tile roof. There is a projecting plinth and brick pilasters at either end, which have moulded capping that supports an entablature below the parapet. A band runs along the first floor. The windows are segmental arched recessed sash windows with painted heads. The wooden doorcase includes a round-arched radial fanlight, reeded pilasters that support a cornice-hood, and a panelled door. The rear elevation facing the river is designed in a Gothic style. Burnside, along with Nos 6, 8 and the Old Falcon Inn, forms a group.
