Description

Number 3 Market Square is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall. It features a slated gable roof and is constructed from gault brick, with a stucco plinth and a band at the first-floor level. The building has a combination of three-window and four-window returns. The windows are segmental arched, recessed sash types with stucco block voussoirs, and there is a three-light ground floor window with a stucco surround. The round-arched doorway also has a stucco surround, complete with a keystone block, a fanlight, and a panelled door. This building is included for its group value, as it is part of a collection of buildings from numbers 3 to 15 (odd) that form a cohesive architectural group.
