Description
Barclay's Bank, located at No. 5 Market Square, was built around 1901 in the Neo-Georgian style. The building has two storeys and a basement, featuring four windows. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings. The design includes a cornice with a parapet above, architraved windows, and a ground floor that has a continuous stone sill band. The entrance is marked by a stone architraved doorcase, which is adorned with an enriched frieze and a cornice supported by console brackets. Nos 3 to 15 (odd) form a group with this building.
