GV II

Bank built 1878 by Boardman of Norwich. Florentine Renaissance design. Red brick with stone dressings. Hipped slate roof with end stacks. Two storeys. Deep, moulded stone cornice, stone band and plinth with rusticated quoins. Five first floor hung sash windows with shouldered, segmental architraves with keystone. Large central three-light window divided by columns on stone cill with round-headed arches and keystones. Two windows above main entrance to right hand and larger balancing window to left hand. Double, panelled doors.

Interior has original panelling to walls, and central, large oval-planned counters. Ceiling divided by plastered beams with bands of guilloche decoration. Contemporary facade to north wing of five 'bays' and three storeys; original building possibly C18.
