Description
THE COLLEGE 1. 1082 Wall to the garden of the Almonry and Painted Chamber TL 5480 1/89 TL 5479 2/89 GV 2. A high C14 wall. extends east from the Almonry to the west end of No 2 Fore Hill. Built of stone rubble with a weathered stone capping. It has a pointed arched gateway at the east end and a C20 arch in gothic style, with a war memorial at the east end, A stone rubble wall also extends south and west on the boundary between the Cathedral, precinct and the gardens. of the Almonry and Painted Chamber.
The Almonry, Wall to the, gardens of the Almonry and Painted Chamber, the Sacristy Gate and Goldsmith's Tower form a group with all the listed buildings in High Street except No 2. See also general group description under the Cathedral of The Holy Trinity.
