Description

Magdalene College's Benson Court Main Block was built between 1931 and 1932 by Sir Edwin Lutyens. This three-storey building, which includes attics and a basement, features a long red brick façade with some purple brick accents. The structure is gabled at both ends and has continuous bands at the first floor and cornice levels. There are five doorways, each framed with pedimented Gibbs surrounds. The windows are two-light casements, and there are dormers in the attic. The roof is tiled and has five tall stacks. Inside, the five oak staircases each have balusters of a different design.
