Description
The Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located on Cherry Orton Road in Orton Waterville. It is constructed of stone faced in brick, with rendered end walls and a thatched roof featuring gabled ends. The building has one storey and an attic, with two dormers at the eaves that contain 2-light casements with leaded panes. On the ground floor, there is a 6-light bay window with a dentilled cornice on the left side and a 3-light casement with leaded panes on the right. The central entrance features a panelled and glazed door with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets and adorned with a dentilled cornice. The cottage has rendered chimney stacks at both ends. To the right, there is a single-storey wing made of stone rubble, also with a thatched roof, which includes one 3-light casement with leaded panes. Additionally, there is a 19th-century single-storey brick extension at the southern end, featuring a tiled roof and a bow window.
