Description
Cherry Orton Cottage is an early 18th century house made of coursed stone rubble. It features a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with gabled ends and wide eaves. The building has two storeys and two windows on the front. The first floor includes a 3-light casement window and a blocked window, while the ground floor has a 2-light casement window and a canted bay with sash windows that have glazing bars. There is an end chimney stack. To the left (south) of the main house, there is an adjoining wing from the 18th century, also constructed of coursed stone rubble, with a lower Collyweston stone roof and gabled ends. This wing has two storeys, casements with leaded panes, and a ledged door with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets.
