Description
The Lodge to Milton Park is a late 18th-century building designed in a subtle Strawberry Hill Gothick style. It is constructed of dressed stone and ashlar, topped with a hipped Collyweston stone roof. The lodge has a nearly square layout, featuring ashlar embattled corner turrets and a parapet adorned with quatrefoils. It stands two storeys high and has one window, with depressed arch windows that include dripmoulds and pointed arch lights fitted with leaded panes. There is a plain side doorway at the base of one turret, which has a flush panel door and a rectangular fanlight.
To the right (south) of the main structure is an early 19th-century wing that is positioned at right angles to the road. This wing is also two storeys tall, has two windows with 2-light casements featuring diamond panes, and a blocked central doorway. It has a lower Collyweston stone roof with a gable end facing the road. Additionally, there are early to mid-19th-century wings at the rear (east) of the lodge, built of stone and also covered with Collyweston stone roofs.
