Description

42 Cowgate is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall with attics. It is constructed of painted brick and features a temporary iron roof. The façade includes two flat-topped dormers with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars. There is a wooden eaves cornice and two additional windows with flat arches, also double-hung sashes with glazing bars. To the left, there is a six-fielded door topped by an ornamental glazed semi-circular fanlight. The building has a modern glazed shop front from the late 19th century. Nos 42 to 50 (even) form a group.
