Description
51 Priestgate is a former vicarage dating from the late 17th century and later. The building features a brick parapet and a modern tile roof, with coursed rubble and stone dressings. It has a plain stone string course and is two storeys high with attics. The corners are accentuated by rusticated quoins, and there is an ashlar topped plinth. The façade includes three flat-topped dormers with glazing bars, and a moulded wood eaves cornice. There are three windows, which are double-hung sashes with glazing bars; two of these are three-light windows, while one is a single-light window, all set within stone architraves that feature keystones. The entrance has a six-panel door topped by a semi-circular plain fanlight, also framed by a stone architrave with a keystone. Nos 43, 45, 49, 51, and 55 form a cohesive group.
