Description

This is a group of three red brick dwellings, originally built as one continuous block, situated on the south side of Potton Market Square. The building was refronted in red brick, obscuring an earlier structure, and dates to 1697, as indicated by a date panel bearing the initials "WW" and the year. It has a clay tile roof and a seven-window facade arranged in a slightly irregular pattern.

The building is two storeys high with attics. The ground floor now contains 20th-century shop fronts for numbers 22 and 24, and a 19th-century bow window with a modillion cornice to number 23. The first floor has a 20th-century window on the left-hand side, while the remaining windows are sash windows with glazing bars set in moulded flush frames, all with gauged brick flat heads. Three hipped dormers containing two-light casements are visible in the attic.

Numbers 23 and 24 have part-glazed six-panel doors with moulded surrounds; number 23 features an open pediment above the door, while number 24 has a cornice hood. A brick band runs along the first floor, with a differing profile to that of number 22. The building is finished with a wood modillion eaves cornice. Red brick ridge stacks are present on numbers 22 and 23, with a gable end stack on number 24.
