Description
Nos. 19 and 20 Market Square is a house that has been subdivided with shops on the ground floor. It dates from the 18th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of dark red brick with lighter red brick dressings and has clay tile roofs. The facade features six windows arranged in a slightly irregular pattern and consists of two storeys plus attics. The ground floor has two shop fronts from the 20th century. On the first floor, there are sash windows with glazing bars and moulded flush frames, which are set under gauged brick flat heads. The attic includes four box dormers that contain horizontal sashes and casements. The right-hand end of the building has a rounded corner, and there is a brick band at the first floor level along with a simple brick eaves cornice. A rebuilt brick multiple ridge stack is also present.
