Description
Tysoe and Son is a house that has been converted into a shop, located on Potton Market Square. It dates from the 18th century and was reworked in the 19th century. The building is made of red brick and has a slate roof. It features a three-window front elevation, is two storeys high with attics, and has a ground floor that includes a 19th-century shop front on the left-hand side. This shop front has plain pilasters with foliate capitals supporting a fascia with a moulded cornice. On the right-hand side, there is a tripartite sash window with a moulded flush surround and glazing bars.
The first floor has two similar tripartite sash windows flanking a central sash window, all with moulded flush surrounds and glazing bars. These windows are set under gauged brick heads with painted keyblocks. The attic features three box dormers, each containing two-light casements. There is a stucco band at the first floor level and a moulded brick modillion eaves cornice. An integral red brick stack is located at the right-hand end, while the left-hand stack was removed in the 20th century.
