Description
The George and Dragon Public House is an 18th-century building that has undergone later modifications. It is constructed of red brick, with the left-hand side elevation rendered, and features a clay tile roof that is hipped at the right-hand end. The building has two storeys and attics.
On the ground floor, the left side has a 19th-century tripartite sash window and a part-glazed door set within a pilastered surround. To the right of this, there are two 20th-century windows under gauged brick heads, flanking an open pediment doorcase. The first floor has two tripartite sash windows and one blind window, all with gauged brick heads. In the attic, there is a box dormer that contains a two-light casement window.
The right-hand corner of the building is cut at a 45-degree angle, creating a narrow elevation that features one window on each floor, with the first-floor window being a tripartite sash. The building has one integral gable end stack and two ridge stacks, all made of red brick. It is included for its group value.
