Description
No. 6 Market Square is a house with a shop on the ground floor, dating from the 18th century. The front elevation is finished in stucco, while the side elevation is weatherboarded, all supported by a timber-framed structure. It features a slated half-hipped gambrel roof and has two storeys plus attics, with the gable end facing the road.
On the road elevation, the ground floor includes part-glazed double doors that are flanked by small 19th-century oriel shop windows. The first floor features a 19th-century canted oriel window that contains sashes with glazing bars. In the attic, there is a small three-light window, with the central light having an ogee head. The stucco on the front is incised to imitate ashlar.
On the side elevation, the ground floor has two sashes with glazing bars, while the first floor has two two-light casements, also with glazing bars. The attic includes one box dormer with a two-light casement.
