Description
Lion Court is a house that has been subdivided into flats, originally built in the late 18th century with a refronting of an earlier structure. The exterior features colourwashed render over brick, which appears to include some timber framing, and is topped with clay tile roofs. The main block consists of two storeys and attics, with an additional two-storey block extending westwards along Bull Street. The principal elevation is symmetrical and has five bays. All the windows are sash windows with glazing bars, with the attic windows being half height. These attic windows are set into a high parapet that conceals the front roof slope. The central doorway features a 20th-century panelled door flanked by sidelights and topped with a rectangular fanlight. The 20th-century surround includes ornamental console brackets that support a simple cornice. There is a modillion cornice at the parapet, and integral brick stacks are present on both gable ends. The rear projecting block has similar sash windows with glazing bars and a projecting band at the first-floor level.
