Description

MARSTON MORETAINE BEANCROFT ROAD SP 94 SE 3/50 Charity Farmhouse - II

House. Early C17. Substantial timber frame with red brick infill, the infill covered with colourwashed render. Clay tiled roofs. Bay of main block nearest road stands on substantial coursed limestone plinth. Main block is 2- storeyed, of 3 bays, with gable end to road. Adjoining one storey and attics block, a later addition, borders road and forms L-plan. NW elevations: variety of casement windows, 3 to each floor, some with glazing bars, others C20 with leaded lights. 2 blocked mullioned windows visible to first floor. Central bay has doorway, now sheltered by C20 hipped porch. Red brick multiple ridge stack serves 2 RH bays. Roof is half-hipped. Road Elevation: main block gable has one 2-light casement window to each floor, with blocked mullioned window to attic. LH block has one 2 light casement to ground floor and 2 gabled dormers with casements. Red brick external stack to LH gable end.
