Description

Creepy Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century. It features timber framing with 19th century brick infill and limestone rubble, along with timber lintels. The roof is thatched and has brick stacks. The building has a three-unit baffle-entry plan and stands two storeys tall. The street-facing side has three windows, including a heavy-framed four-light casement to the right of the center, with a similar three-light window above it, and renewed two-, three-, and four-light casements flanking these. There is a brick ridge stack to the left of the center and a lateral stack at the extreme right. The entrance is located at the rear. The rear and gable walls are timber-framed in small panels, while the right gable wall is pebbledashed. The roof features a single row of clasped purlins. The rubble wall may be a casing or a rebuilding of a timber-framed wall. The interior has not been inspected.
