Description

The north gatepier and attached wall on the west side of the stableyard at Denton House date from the mid-18th century. Constructed from limestone ashlar and rubble, the gatepier is one of a pair that flank the entrance to the stableyard. It features a moulded cornice and a ball finial. The wall curves around to the stables and is made of banded rubble and ashlar, topped with a flat coping that sweeps up to the abutments.
