Description
This is an early 19th-century house located on Ampthill Road, Silsoe. Constructed of red brick, it features a hipped thatched roof. The building is a small example of picturesque style architecture, laid out in an L-shape with a semi-octagonal block projecting from the centre of the front wing. It is a single-story building with attics. The roof extends forward over the semi-octagonal block, supported by rustic timbers that create a verandah. The front facade has two two-light casement windows on the ground floor and a central round-headed dormer window, all with diamond-leaded glass. A central plank door provides access. The side elevations include canted bay windows supported by wooden brackets and featuring diamond-leaded glass. A red brick stack rises from the central ridge of the roof, with further red brick external stacks on the rear and right-hand elevations. A 20th-century flat-roofed addition extends from the rear of the property.
