Description

SP 9433-9533 WOBURN BEDFORD STREET (East Side) 8/81 23.1.61 No. 7 GV II Earlier C18 with early C19 reworkings, encasing an earlier, probably C17 structure. Red brick with some chequerwork patterning in flared headers. Applied cement render quoins to outer angles. Clay tile roof to RH part, slate roof to LH part. LH bay: 3-storeyed single bay. 2-storeyed bow window contains tripartite sash with glazing bars to each floor. First floor has bowed balcony on brackets and cast iron columns, with ornamental cast iron railing. Dentil cornice at 2nd floor level. Above this the top floor consists of a deep parapet with small tripartite window in central recessed panel, and outer bays containing small recessed panels. RH bay: 2 storeys and attics. Ground and first floors each have tripartite sash with glazing bars in flush case and under cambered head. First floor also has blind window with cambered head. Attic has box dormer with 2-light casement. 6 panel door, top pair glazed. Timber porch has paired panelled pilasters on high base, supporting dentilled cornice and leaded roof. Timber modillion cornice to eaves. Variety of brick chimney stacks.
