Description

This is a mid-18th century house on Bedford Street, Woburn. The front elevation is constructed of red brick in a header bond pattern, while the side elevation uses a Flemish bond. The architectural details, originally ashlar, are now colourwashed. The roof is slate at the front and clay tiles at the rear. The building follows a double-pile plan with a 2-span roof.

The symmetrical facade is five windows wide and features ashlar quoins, a plinth, and a band marking the first floor. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded ashlar surrounds. Three box dormers with sash windows containing glazing bars are present in the attic. The central doorway is accessed by three stone steps and features a four-panel door set within a stone Tuscan doorcase. The doorcase includes two engaged columns supporting an entablature and triangular pediment. A moulded timber eaves cornice combines with projecting panelled and leaded guttering. Integral red brick stacks are located at both gable ends.
