Description

Holly Tree Cottage and The Cottage are two houses located on Blunham High Street, originally built in the 17th century with 19th-century additions. The buildings feature a timber-framed construction with a colour washed roughcast exterior and an old clay tile roof that is hipped at the southeast corner. The structure is arranged in an L-plan and has two storeys.

On the road-facing side, the ground floor includes 20th-century shallow canted bay windows, alongside a 20th-century gabled wood porch. The first floor has two three-light windows flanking a two-light window, all of which are casements with glazing bars. A yellow-brick integral stack is located on the northern gable. The southern elevation mirrors the fenestration and porch of the front, featuring a substantial ridge stack on the right with three rebuilt diagonal flues made of red brick and yellow brick dressings. There are later additions that extend from the northern elevation.
