Description
Blunham Old Meeting Baptist Church is a Baptist meeting-house that dates back to 1751, with alterations made in 1832. The building is constructed of red brick, which has been heightened and altered with yellow brick, and features a pyramidal slate roof. It has a square plan and is raised to two storeys.
The west elevation has a symmetrical facade with two doors, each consisting of six moulded panels, flanking two sash windows. The first floor features three sash windows with glazing bars, and all openings have cambered heads. The side elevations each have two sash windows with glazing bars on both floors, also with cambered heads. The east elevation includes two round-arched windows flanking the pulpit, which are themselves flanked by sash windows with glazing bars and cambered heads.
The interior fittings are from the early and later 19th century. Some monuments have been reset externally on the west elevation, including one dedicated to Hannah, the wife of Edward Sutton, who died in 1795. There are 20th-century flat-roofed additions to the north.
