Description
The game larder and drying room, located approximately 20 meters west of Chicksands Priory, is a mid-19th century structure associated with the priory. It is built of red brick, partly rendered, and features clay tile roofs. The building consists of a small rectangular section with a hipped roof, which is connected to a smaller octagonal block with a conical roof on the southeast side.
The rectangular block has red brick dressings and is rendered over coursed rubble. Most of its windows are pointed arched with sills at the springing line, except for the west window, which has a 4-centred head. There is a pointed arched doorway on the east side. The octagonal block is constructed of red brick and has narrow pointed arched single lights, one on each elevation. It also features pointed arched gabled dormers on alternate elevations and a doorway on the north elevation with a cambered head. A wooden finial adorns the roof.
