Description
The former game larder located to the west of Ashcroft House dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from random coursed rubble stone and features flush quoins. The roof is made of sprocketed stone slate with a wooden wall plate set on the outside, approximately 0.5 meters below the eaves. The building has a small elongated octagonal shape, with a door and a window positioned on the short ends. The plank door is covered in a small lattice trellis and is set into a Tudor archway. On the opposite wall, there is a 2-light chamfered stone mullion with arched lights. A moulded stone shelf runs around the interior at about 0.9 meters in height, extending from below the window to the ends of each long side. Inside, there are two crown post trusses.
