Description
Valley View is a detached house, which was likely two cottages in the past. It features a datestone from 1790 with the initials MID above the door. The building is constructed from random coursed rubble stone with flush quoins and has a stone slate roof, with rendered end stacks topped with brick caps. The main part of the house is a two-storey structure with an attic, and there is a set-back wing to the right that is also two storeys, likely originally a separate cottage.
The main range has three windows, which are paired 6-pane casements with timber lintels. On the ground floor, there are paired 8-pane windows flanking a central raking porch hood and a plank door, both of which are probably from the 20th century. Above, there is a single central paired 6-pane casement hipped dormer. The right wing has one window on each floor, featuring different styles of casements, and a plank door located at the angle with a projecting corner porch. The interior likely retains original beams, although they are boxed in.
