Firstlodge Farmhouse, Approximately 800 Metres North Of Chicksands Priory

Firstlodge Farmhouse is a house located approximately 800 metres north of Chicksands Priory. It dates from the 17th century or earlier, with some reworking in the 19th century. The building features some timber framing with red brick infill, partly roughcast, and has undergone rebuilding and extensions in red brick. The roofs are covered with clay tiles. Originally, the house was in an L-plan configuration, with additional blocks added to the south, east, and north.

The farmhouse is two storeys high. On the south elevation, the left-hand gable and the central gabled porch display exposed timber framing on the first floor, while the ground floor has been rebuilt in brick. The right-hand gable is from the 19th century. The outer gables have three-light casement windows, one on each floor, and the porch features a two-light casement window on the first floor, all with glazing bars. The entrance includes a 20th-century replacement panel door with sidelights and a rectangular fanlight. A red brick multiple ridge stack is located on the left-hand gable. The other elevations show a variety of windows, mostly casements with glazing bars. Attached to the rear of the house is a small outbuilding constructed from re-used ironstone and limestone blocks, topped with a pantiled roof.
