Description

South Lodge is an entrance lodge belonging to Chicksands Priory, built in 1862 for George Robert Osborn, the sixth Baronet. The building features coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and a clay tile roof. It has a T-plan layout, is one storey high with attics, and is almost identical to the East Lodge.

On the east elevation, the left block has a ground floor window with mullions and a transom, while the right gable features a two-light mullioned window in the attic. Both windows are leaded and have moulded labels. The right gable also has a four-centred arched door, which is sheltered by a gabled open porch that includes turned timber balusters and foliate carving at the apex.
