Description
Poste Cottage is a house, possibly originally a pair of cottages, dating from the 18th century. It features colourwashed roughcast over a timber frame and has a thatched roof. The building has a four-room plan and is one storey with attics, oriented with the gable end facing the road. The gable end has an early 19th-century bow window on the ground floor, which was formerly a shop, and an attic with a two-light casement window, both of which have glazing bars. On the north elevation, there are two ground floor windows and three gabled dormers, all with two-light casements featuring glazing bars. The front door is sheltered by an open porch with a hipped thatched hood. A red brick double ridge stack is present, along with a lean-to addition on the right-hand side. There is also a 20th-century extension in a similar style that projects from the west gable end.
