Description
The orangery, built around 1800 for Sir George Osborn, is located approximately 100 metres northeast of Chicksands Priory and is likely designed by James Wyatt. This Gothick-style building is constructed from red brick with a timber facade and features a hipped slate roof. The small rectangular structure faces south and consists of five bays. The outer four bays have full-length sash windows with glazing bars, while the central bay, which is slightly wider, has French windows also with glazing bars. The bays are separated by slender Gothic clustered half-columns. The entablature, which previously displayed a Latin inscription that is no longer visible, supports six crocketed pinnacles aligned with the columns.
