Description

Westcroft Cottages is a disused farmhouse that dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century. The structure features a combination of timber framing and brick nogging, with parts replaced in red brick on the south and east sides. It has plain tiled roofs with a brick stack located towards the west end of the ridge. The main range is aligned east-west, while a cross-wing is positioned north-south at the west end.

The north front has two storeys with scattered windows, although it is difficult to assess their condition due to the building's derelict state. The south front also has scattered fenestration, including one window in the gable to the left and three gabled dormers that are evenly spaced on the main range to the right. There are two doorways on this front, but the doors were missing at the time of the survey. A lean-to extension projects to the north at the left-hand end of the north front.

The interior has not been fully inspected due to the building's condition, but it has been noted to contain a rubble stone stack that rises to brick at approximately roof level, timber-framed cross-walls, and stop-chamfered spine beams in the ground-floor rooms. The building was in a derelict condition during the inspection in February 1987.
