Description
The Jaylands is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. Constructed of red brick, it features a hipped plain tile roof and a central brick stack. The building is two storeys high with a high basement and attics. The front elevation has three sash windows; the upper parts are glazed, and each has a rubbed brick flat arch with an advanced keystone, a panelled apron, and a cill band beneath the first floor. Quoins and a pediment are present over the ground floor centre window, while the first floor window has a lugged architrave and decorative lintel. A central gable contains a glazed semi-circular light within a rubbed brick surround featuring keystones. The side entrance elevation includes a late 19th-century bow window and a two-storey entrance porch. Narrow windows are featured with panelled aprons and keystones.
