Description

Brook Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, which was remodelled and extended in the early 19th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, now clad in painted brick, and has a tile roof. The house originally comprised two framed bays, with a later brick extension to the north, and features gable-end stacks. It has one storey with a roof space lit by three dormer windows. The ground floor has three windows - 2-light casements, with a 3-light casement to the right, the head of which is shaped as a segmental arch. A doorway has been blocked between the two left-hand windows; the doorway to the right has a wooden lintel and a half-glazed door. To the rear, one square panel of the timber frame is visible beneath the eaves.
