Description
No. 40 Park Lane is a house built around 1840. It features Flemish bond purple brick with darker headers and has a slate hipped roof with deep eaves. The building has slightly projecting brick stacks on the sides, each with two squat circular shafts decorated with spiral pattern brickwork. The house is two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window west front, with 8-pane sash windows; the ground floor windows have fluted lintels. The central doorway is framed by a pilastered doorcase topped with a broken-bed pediment, and it includes a semi-circular fanlight and a panelled door. The property backs onto the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
