Description
The gate piers, gates, wall, and railings to the east of The Rectory are from the mid-18th century, with early and mid-19th century alterations. The wall runs along Lower Park for about 45 metres and features an entrance towards the north end, which returns about 15 metres to the west. The wall is made of brick with a stone coping and stands approximately 1.5 metres high. The entrance is marked by two stuccoed brick piers topped with segmental pediments, and the gates are made of wrought iron with spearheaded rails, while the lower half of the gate is blind. The return wall is about 0.75 metres high and is capped by cast iron railings with scroll stanchions. This structure is included for its group value.
