Description

The building is a Friends Meeting House, likely dating from around 1691, with alterations from the early 19th century and a late 20th-century extension. It is constructed of brick with a tile roof. The two roof bays are aligned north-west to south-east, with the extension adding to the north-west gable. The north-east front has one storey, marked by a band above the windows. It features three windows: a small fixed casement on the left, and two timber cross-windows with rectangular leaded quarries and cambered heads. A roughly central blocked opening likely marked a former entrance. The south-east gable is similarly one storey, with a window illuminating a gallery in the gable. A dentilled brick cornice tops the gable, with a band above the upper window and above the ground floor. The ground floor has a central entrance under a cambered head, featuring a wooden architrave and a door consisting of four raised and fielded panels. Inside, a gallery to the south-east end features stick balusters for the balustrade. Other fittings are plain and date from the early 19th century. The building holds group value due to its architectural and historical significance.
