Description
The boundary wall, railings, and gate piers to the Old Rectory were built in the early 19th century and altered in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of brick, partly rendered, with a stone slab coping. The wall extends approximately 30 meters along Village Road to the east and then runs south for about 80 meters, enclosing the entrance court and garden. The section along Village Road features rendered brick. At the eastern corner, there is a blocked gateway with a pair of painted square brick piers. To the left, there is another gateway with square brick piers that have cornice caps and wooden gates. Inside, a curving brick wall encloses the entrance court, featuring a square pier and a round-arched doorway. The southern length of the wall is made of brick with cast-iron coping and wrought-iron railing. This structure is included for its group value.
