Description

HIMBLETON CP HIMBLETON SO 95 NW 6/158 (19/2A) Dovecote about 20 yards south-east of Church 14.3.69 Farmhouse and Church Cottage GV II

Dovecote. Early C17. Timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill; plain tiled roof. Square plan. Framing: four panels from sill to wall-plate, short straight braces in upper corners, collar and tie-beam trusses with two collars, four struts to lower and two to upper collar with concave V- strut in apex. Louvred panels in both gable ends; small doorway at centre of north elevation; simple gabled wooden lantern at centre of roof ridge. Interior retains its nesting boxes, approximately 130.
