DEFFORD ROAD (West side) Gates to Pershore House

GV II

Drive gates. Mid-late C18. Of wrought iron. 2-leaf carriage gate with rectangular piers and pedestrian gate on right. Main gate has wavy dog-bars; decorative and spiked finials to bars; scroll-work to base, mid, and top-rails; scrolled terminals to end-bars; and house name added on left. Openwork piers have sides formed of linked circles and claw heads with wooden acorn finials. Plainer side-gate with slender bars.
