Description
No. 4 Broad Street is a house in a row, built in the early 19th century and altered over time. It is constructed of brick with a stucco render and features a Welsh slate roof with deep bracketed eaves and a brick stack on the rear roof pitch.
The building has three storeys and a cellar, with a single-window range. A notable feature is the two-storey canted bay window, which has a pitched leaded roof and a deep moulded cornice that breaks the first-floor cornice. The bay window is fitted with fixed glazing arranged in a pattern of 3:6:3 panes, supported by moulded mullions and plain sill bands. On the second floor, there is a tripartite window consisting of 2:4:2 panes, also with wooden mullions and a sill. The doorcase on the right has a wide surround with a bracketed cornice and a renewed part-glazed six-panel door. The building is further enhanced by rusticated quoins and a plinth.
The interior has not been inspected.
